The unusual natural characteristics and its religious importance have become Montserrat mountain in one of the great symbols of Catalonia. This impressive rocky massif, visible from a great distance, offers visitors the chance to admire a landscape unique in the world, a range of towers and spiers of rock rising abruptly from the surrounding plains.

Located 50 km northwest of Barcelona, the mountain covers an area of 10 km long and 5 km wide.

From the viewpoints and from the 1236 meters high of the Sant Jeroni peak you can admire stunning panoramic views of Catalonia and the Pyrenees.
Montserrat is an attractive mountain for hikers and climbers thanks to the many roads, trails and climbing routes with different difficulty levels.
The Montserrat Mountain hosts many small churches and chapels and especially the monastery of Montserrat, located in the eastern part of the massif at at a height of 720 meters above sea level.
